Utrecht - 24th to 25th March 2008

I will miss...

The insane weather, where I saw snow through one window and sun through the other, and which changed in the course of an hour.

The little streets with quaint museums and with pretty houses at every turn.

The canals which teemed with life, either wildlife or with people living, selling, being people.

The bare trees which instead of being hindrances added to the atmosphere and where the rustling of the empty branches made it seem just right.

The quaintest cafes, with the best bread and the best smelling coffee and tea (Lapsang Souchong, among others, haha), and the ambience no euros can buy.

The people, most of all. The crazy cyclists who ride like they own the road (and they do, a bike lane just for them), the smiling staff who greet in Dutch and speak in English, and the girls who led me around Utrecht, got me drunk on Bokbier and who argued and teased and laughed and talked with me in the way only those who love can.

So, a picture collage of Utrecht.

The aforementioned snow from the Sprinter window. Not very sprinty at all, rawr.

The awesome view from Ying's window. The benefits of living on the 18th floor.

Beautiful female who is amazing host and cooks well on left, tired leech who gets no blood because he's too fat on right. Compulsory self-jack! :p

But one of the many awesome views in Utrecht, trees and old buildings.

Railway Museum - I got there on a holiday but not as crowded as one might expect. Not that we went in actually.

One of the streets down the Museum Quarter.

The ubiquitous canals of the Netherlands.

That be a house - what an awesome house it be, no? :)

Another awesome looking building - Utrecht bleeds nice bricks.

FC Utrecht Stadium - the Stadion Galgenwaard.

2nd day morning view - After an insane snowstorm, nice beautiful blanket of white across Utrecht.

Reminded me of the girlfriend. Wonder why? :p And yes, she is sweet in every way.

Dom Tower! THE photograph opportunity of Utrecht.

The 2 pretty girls at breakfast, awesome crossiants for me and bread for them. No jacking please. (RAWR)

The Demon Baal. Otherwise known as Miffy.

The freakin' post office. Wow right.

Shopping Street in Utrecht. Not many brands but very nice shops, especially the tea and coffee place.

The 2 lovelies who took me about Utrecht. Much love sweethearts. :)
